YEG Cycle presents: THE SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELLING MUG
"I'd like to think that fate had a hand in what happened that December.
That it was the mug’s destiny to find us.
Where it came from and why it chose us...
...well, that will always be a mystery.
But perhaps that was part of its miracle.
That it sensed in that moment how much we needed it.
How much we needed some little bit of faith to hold onto...
...when it seemed like everything we believed in was about to slip away."
A very magical December this was. A holiday miracle. One YEG Cycle community mug ventured from its home at the studio, going its separate ways for the month. It found itself in the hands for four Bikergang sitting in four local cafes. As the mug was filled with warm beverages, the four bikergang felt connected.
One Bikergang had the mug filled at The Hexagon Board Game Cafe. With large table spaces and an abundance of power outlets, this is a productive workplace. She was at ease surrounded by the fun and quirky environment as she sipped coffee, worked, and watched people play board games. Before she knew it, she had plans to take the others there for post-spin coffee, snacks, and games.
Another Bikergang had her mug filled at Block 1912. She felt elegant and classy sitting on a velvet tufted couch while sipping her lavender London fog and reading The Secret Garden. As she ate her luxurious tiramisu, she made plans to take the others there for post-spin mochas and gelato.
One of the other of the four Bikergang had her mug filled at District Café and Bakery. The café was filled with business professionals having meetings or grabbing a quick a coffee and pastry to go for work. The minimalistic furnishings made her feel like she had her life together. She messaged the others to make plans to grab a sophisticated breakfast together after a morning spin class.
The last of the four Bikergang found herself at the local Colombian Coffee Bar and Roastery. She felt calm and at home, drinking a strong cup of coffee made from beans roasted in Edmonton. The aroma of the fresh beans soothed her. She invited the others to come support the local, sustainable business after a GIV’R class at YEG Cycle.
